Our International Work
Harvest Pack partners with International Care Ministries and Children's Lifeline to ensure our meals reach those in need in both the Philippines and Haiti.
Harvest Pack partners with other humanitarian organizations like International Care Ministries, providing food alongside ICM’s economic sustainability work in the Philippines to help people like Maria. When Maria was young she dreamed of graduating from high school. But life has been hard. She and her husband, Levi, have 8 kids. Levi works in the sugarcane fields and it is hard to keep everyone fed. After Typhoon Yolanda destroyed their home, Maria wondered how they would survive.
In 2015, ICM invited Maria to join its Transform program, which creates a support network and helps individuals start businesses. Maria received Business-In-a-Box kits they gave her the direction she needed to carry out her dream of cooking. She now sells puto cakes, earning $2.50 per day versus the $0.50-per-day average. She is building a better home, her kids go to school, and she is finally pursuing her high school certificate.
“Dreams can come true! I am so happy and full of joy because I know the future is now brighter for us all.”
