COVID-19: Making an Impact

COVID-19 Safety Measures for Harvest Pack Events – Updated January 10, 2022

Harvest Pack continues to be focused on protecting the health and safety of our entire community and is working to ensure that our meal packing projects are as safe as possible for everyone involved. While COVID-19 safety guidelines may vary from state to state, we will continue to follow CDC guidelines for all our operations

  • Please do not participate if any of the following are true:

    • You are showing any signs of the COVID-19 virus (including cough, congestion or runny nose, sore throat, fatigue, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea).

    • You are awaiting COVID-19 test results or have received a positive test result in the past 5 days.

    • You have been exposed to the virus within the past 5 days (in close contact* with anyone who is showing signs of the virus or had a positive test). *Close contact = Being within 6 feet or less of an infected individual for a cumulative period of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.

  • All participants are expected to follow CDC guidelines related to masks, quarantine & isolation.

    • If your event is in a county with substantial or high virus transmission, masks are required for all participants (aged 2 and older), regardless of vaccination status.

    • If you are fully vaccinated and your event is in a county with low or moderate virus transmission, masks are optional, unless required by updated CDC guidelines for quarantine and isolation (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html#closecontact

    • If you are not fully vaccinated, masks are expected for those aged 2 and older.

    • Harvest Pack will not require proof of vaccination – we trust our volunteers to make decisions that will best support the health and safety of our community, staff and other volunteers.

    • Acceptable masks include high-quality, tight-fitting masks (such as KN95, KF94 or N95 respirators), which are preferred, surgical (or non-medical disposable) masks, or multi-layer cloth. Harvest Pack will supply non-medical disposable masks if needed. All masks must fit snugly and completely cover your nose and mouth.

    • Plastic face shields worn alone, neck gaiters, and bandanas are not acceptable. A mask with a face shield is acceptable.

  • Harvest Pack continues to follow thorough disinfecting & cleaning protocols.

  • Harvest Pack’s packaging setup and table spacing has been adjusted to allow for proper distancing between groups. This may lead to volunteer group sizes being limited (based on the space available).

    • Families/Individuals will be distanced from each other.

    • If you or anyone in your group develops symptoms while packing, you and your entire group are expected to notify Harvest Pack staff and excuse yourselves from the event.

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in for your shift. If there is a line, please respect distancing guidelines while you wait.

  • Please adhere to all federal requirements and local orders for your area.

  • These COVID-19 safety guidelines are not exhaustive and may be adjusted depending on the prevalence of the COVID-19 virus and vaccination rates in the event area.

We hope that all of you are protecting your health - mental and physical - during this time of uncertainty. We encourage you to help your community by sharing both resources and positivity. As long as we continue to work together, we will get through this together.
